Image of the student's poster and ecosystem they created

Students were asked to "create an ecosystem" that has all the same characteristcs of ecosstems here on Earth. These projects were creative in nature, while being grounded in "real science principals and characteristcs." Students were encoruaged to think outside the box, and apply their learning in creative ways. This student is a prime example of creativity and application of classroom learning in a new and complex way.

The poster they created to visualize their ecosystem is the image.

6th Grade Students particpated in a Civil War Encampment on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Students have been studying the Civil War for their last Social Studies unit. Students were placed into "regiments" both Union and Confederate; they had to take on the role of a soldier and complete in Drill Practice, life in the encampment, and discover the reasons for the Civil War and the outcomes. Some amazing learning took place!

Forces in motion balloon experiment

Students in kindergarten made balloon cars. Once they blew up the balloon they attached it to their car to see if it would roll across the gym floor. Arabella decided to leave hers attached to the car and blow it up before releasing it. It was the end of their Forces in Motion mini unit. Each child designed their own car with minimal help. They were learning that the air from the ballon pushed the car forward.
