Attendance is very important to your child's success in school. We encourage you to have your child(ren) attend school each day. A missed school day is a lost opportunity for students to learn and this often results in students falling behind with their academic work. Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. We certainly understand that children become sick and unforeseen circumstances may prevent your child from attending school on occasion; however, we encourage you to help your child get back to school as soon as possible after an absence.

Parents are asked to call the Paris Elementary School if your child will be absent or late to school. Students are considered tardy if the arrive after 8:45AM. You may call the school at 743-7802 after 8:00AM.

When a student shows signs of illness, the parent will be notified and the student will be excused from school. You will need to sign your child in or out of school if it is during school hours. This helps us know who has your child and the exact time of arrival or dismissal for attendance records. If your child has had a fever or vomitting, he must be free of these symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school.
