Student and Exchange Visitor Program
Our Mission States:
"The Oxford Hills School District seeks to graduate healthy, responsible and productive citizens, ready to succeed in our global society."
We live in a diverse world and seek to prepare our students to be successful anywhere in the world. We wish for all our students the opportunity to study abroad and to be exposed to other cultures both abroad and at home. To provide opportunties for Oxford Hills students to experience other cultures, the district supports cultural exchanges.
We seek to provide a diverse staff: The district has a long established relationship with the Zhejiang Normal University Middle School (gr. 10-12) in Jinhua, China. Zhejiang Normal University Middle School provides the Oxford Hills District with two Chinese teachers to share Chinese culture and teach Mandarin. One teacher works at the Oxford Hills Middle School and the other at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. The district is planning a student trip to China in the spring of 2018. Approximately 20 students and 5 faculty will travel to our sister school where they will attend school and stay in host homes and tour significant sites. The trip occurs about every two or three years. Our sister school sends students from Zhejiang Normal University Middle School to visit the Oxford Hills region periodically as well.
We seek opportunities for our students to experience cultures around the world: There are other trips organized by various high school departments annually. These will be posted here as they are approved by the school board. In the past students have traveled to Italy, Greece, France, Spain and the United Kingdon on short term cultural exchanges.
Students are encouraged to consider spending time abroad as a Foreign Exchange Student:
The district encourages foreign students to attend OHCHS : Foreign students are welcome to attend the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School under the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).
