Arrival at the Songo River Queen

This year, with the support of the Lakes Environmental Association, 6th graders have been learning about water and our role in protecting and preserving this essential resource.  To celebrate the end of our studies and put our learning into practice, we participated in the annual Hey-You! Cruise on Long Lake. This "cruise" took place on the Songo River Queen.

Students answered trivia questions, learned about some of the experiments/monitoring that LEA does to check the health of our lakes, and even observed some bad lakeside behaviors (staged actors). Don't worry, the sixth graders shouted "Hey-YOU!" to get them to stop what they were doing.

We appreciate the generous support of the Lakes Environmental Association for providing us with a year of learning and hands-on experiences!
