Latest DOE Guidelines on Quarantining

Below is an update regarding the recent changes to the Federal CDC and Maine DOE guidance regarding Covid-19.

If your student tests Positive for COVID-

  • Isolate at home for at LEAST 5 days from onset of symptoms. (If no symptoms- 5 days from test date.)

  • On day 6- if your student has been 24 hours fever free AND symptoms have improved (not requiring any medicine) they may return to school wearing a mask at all times except when eating/drinking.

  • The district is now accepting positive home tests. Please contact your school nurse.

If your student is Exposed to COVID-19-

  • Universal Masking Exception- The Maine CDC and Maine DOE have implemented an exception to quarantine for school districts that are enforcing a mandatory masking policy.

  • If your student has an exposure to COVID-19 (regardless of where the exposure occurs) they may continue to come to school if asymptomatic and masking.

  • If your student has not received the COVID-19 immunization and has had an exposure, they may continue to come to school under the masking exception but should quarantine outside of school for at least 5 days from last exposure.
