March 8, 2022

Dear Families,

March is here and we are seeing warmer temperatures. As I look out my window I see melting snow and blue skies. Of course we may very well see more storms come through, but any snow won’t stick around long. I feel the anticipation of spring.

Just today our new masking policy has started. From those who have chosen to not wear masks, I have heard comments that it feels different and a little funny. Just like when a ring is taken off or we go barefoot after a long winter of shoes and socks. I am going to have to learn the students all over again now that I can see a whole face for most of them! I hope this is a sign that things will continue to return to precovid normalcy. Time will tell.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is approaching. It is the first week of May. I am organizing a parent committee to help plan one or more events for our hard working staff. If you are interested in helping, the first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15 at 4:30 p.m. here at school. If you can’t make it in person but would like to be part of the meeting, I can offer a Zoom link. If you can’t make the meeting but would like to help, that is possible too. We are flexible! Send me an email if you would like a Zoom link or would like to help but can’t make the meeting.

Parent/Teacher conferences are coming up on Thursday, March 17. If you have not received a sign-up form, please contact either your child’s teacher or the office to get another one. As in the fall, you can choose to meet in person, over Zoom or on the phone. This is an opportunity for parents, caretakers, and children, to meet with teachers and focus on students' academic and social growth.

Remember to refer to the Hebron Station School webpage for up to date news and the events calendar. You will find there that March 18 is a teacher workshop day so there are no students, and we have two more remote days coming up, March 31 and April 1 so teachers can attend a conference. Students will work from home on those two days.

Our spring fundraisers are going well. Thank you to those of you who have been able to participate. It is greatly appreciated. This weekend I will be working on my Pi Day or Pie in the Face Day outfit.......... ...definitely goggles and maybe a rain poncho and a shower cap, hmmm.....

Best,

Jamey
