August 24, 2022

Dear Families,

It is almost time for the new school year to begin. We are busy getting ready to welcome your children next week. Teachers are organizing, preparing, and setting up their classrooms. The building has been thoroughly cleaned over the summer and is gleaming. The playground has new wood chips and new equipment ready for play. We are excited to start the 2022-2023 school year and to be implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with our S.O.A.R. theme: S~Safety, O~Open to Learning, A~Accountable, R~Respect. Your students will be learning how Hebron Hawks can S.O.A.R. in all parts of their day and in all areas of the school.

The first day of school for K-6 is Wednesday, August 31. This will not be an early release day. PreK will start on Tuesday, September 6. Our school day start time has been slightly adjusted from last year. We will be back to opening doors at 8:30 a.m. with a start time of 8:45 a.m. Car pick-up will start at 3:00 p.m. and buses will arrive about 3:05. On Early Release Wednesdays, dismissal will be one hour earlier at 2:00 for pick-ups and 2:05 for buses. This starts Wednesday, September 7.

Of course those first few days the buses may be a little late as the drivers and riders get used to the new routes. The bus routes for this year are posted on the Oxford Hills School District website here. Car drop-off and pick-up will be the same as last year with cars pulling into the parking lot loop to unload/load students.

On the district website, you can find a link to the school year calendar and you can navigate to the Hebron Station School page. On the school’s page you find news, a live feed, and a school events calendar. If you are looking for the grade level welcome letters and supply lists, they are listed in the news section. Our school’s Facebook Page has been up and running since early spring. There are many posts from staff sharing what they were doing over the summer. Many updates will also be posted on the page throughout the school year.

If you would like to volunteer in any way or if you know of grandparents who are interested, please reach out to me or to your child’s teacher to share your interest. We are excited to be able to have volunteers back in the building.

As always, feel free to contact me at school anytime. Good communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity. I look forward to a great school year.

Best,

Jamey
