World Covid Picture

Good Evening Oxford Hills Families,

Maine DOE’s guidance has been updated to state that contact tracing in no longer required for those schools who are implementing a universal masking policy, defined as "A policy of requiring consistent and correct usage of well-fitting masks in indoor spaces for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and across all school-based and school-sponsored activities. A universal masking policy allows for removal of masks while eating/drinking in designated spaces, but not for indoor 'mask breaks’.”

District Covid Cases -  District Quarantining Numbers

Assume every student is a close contact -

Because we are no longer contact tracing, please assume your child is a close contact every day they attend school or go out in the community. Due to our district masking policy, no one needs to quarantine from school as long as they do not have any symptoms. Monitor for symptoms daily and keep your child home if they are not feeling well. Covid Testing -

Covid Testing at School -

Every school is offering weekly Pooled PCR Testing. Pooled testing is a tool - along with masking, vaccination, handwashing, ventilation, and isolating individuals with COVID-19 – to keep communities safe, reduce transmission, and build confidence in school safety. Many people with COVID-19, especially children and teens, are less likely to have symptoms, though they can still spread the virus. Regular testing helps find people who have the virus before it can spread to others, whether in the school or in the community. Please click the link below if you would like to enroll your student.

Please contact your school nurse for any questions or concerns.
