Located in Western Maine, the Oxford Hills School District (M.S.A.D. 17) is comprised of eight towns with a combined population of approximately 20,000. Encompassing an area of 475 square miles, Oxford Hills is one of Maine’s largest school districts. Many small, diversified industries and seasonal recreational businesses support the towns.

Total district enrollment is 3,420. The school district consists of:

  • one comprehensive high school, which includes nineteen technical programs (grades 9 - 12)

  • one adult education center, including college education programs

  • one middle school (grades 7 & 8)

  • eight elementary schools (pre-K to 6)

In 1998, the district became part of the Oxford Hills Higher Educational Initiative. The University of Southern Maine, Central Maine Community College, Western Maine University Center, and other state post-secondary institutes cooperate to offer college courses locally to community members and high school juniors and seniors.

Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School sends academically talented students to the most competitive colleges and universities in the nation. A listing is available from the Guidance Department. In addition, many of our graduates enter specialized programs in the fields of technology, communications, arts and sciences, and business.
