On May 27, 2026, over 30 OHCHS First-Year to Junior students enjoyed a college trip with Ms. Cook, School Counselor and Dr. K., Director of College and Career Counseling/ELO, to Colby College, Waterville, Maine, for the annual Colby Polaris Day Program! Colby hosted students from Maine high schools for a day filled with a campus tour, mock classes taught by Colby College faculty, campus tour, lunch in the dining hall, and a mock college admission committee panel for students. This was one of the many highlights of the campus trip!

Thanks to the Colby College Admission Staff for a complimentary lunch and the Maine Department of Education ELO grant funding for transportation.

Class of 2027!!!

It is official, the OHCHS Summer College Admission Camp 2026 is here! This is a terrific early start to the college admission process covering a wide range of admission topics. Please see the "deets" in the attached flyer. :-)

E-mail either Dr. K. or Mr. Palmer to reserve your spot. Registration deadline is Friday, June 12, 2026, 12 NOON!

On April 10, 2026, thirty-five OHCHS sophomore and juniors enjoyed visiting three Worcester, Massachusetts Colleges and Universities for the first time on a college trip! These universities included: Assumption University, Clark University, and the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Ms. Cook, School Counselor, Dr. K., Director of College and Career Counseling/ELO, and Ms. Mann, Maine Educational Talent Search (METS) Counselor, were delighted to serve as trip chaperones.

The weather on this beautiful early spring day in Worcester was a temperature of 70 degrees! Our students enjoyed campus tours, presentations, and a complimentary lunch, snack, and dinner all provided by these universities for OHCHS!

Special thanks to the Admission Offices and staff of Assumption University, Clark University, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) for providing a program filled day and the WORC Extended Learning Opportunities Grant funding for covering transportation costs for this trip."

A beautiful day for our OHCHS Grades 9-11 students to tour Bates College in Lewiston, Maine! Dan Abatello, OHCHS Graduate and a Bates College Admission Counselor, gave our students a wonderful presentation about Bates along with a tour of campus with current Bates students. Mr. Palmer, OHCHS Social Studies Teacher and a Bates College Graduate as well as Dr. Kloskowski, OHCHS Director of College and Career Counseling/ELO, accompanied our students on the visit.

Thank you to Bates College for providing a delicious complimentary lunch in their dining hall and to the Maine Department of Education ELO Grant for providing transportation funding."

OHCHS students had the opportunity to attend the Bring Back the Trades Expo held at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland, Maine. Many statewide school districts were present throughout the entire day.

Over 125 independent, local, and national trades businesses and corporations presented to students about many different trades careers. OHCHS students had a chance to speak with representatives and tour the campus of SMCC to hear more about some of their programs. Dr. K. and Mrs. Donaldson also took students to see Willard Beach which is connected to the SMCC campus. Special thank you to the Maine Department of Education Extended Learning Opportunities grant for providing the transportation funding for this trades trip.

We’re excited to pilot our first Junior Community Service Day on Friday, May 15th!

Our juniors will be volunteering with 20+ local organizations, schools, and nonprofits across the Oxford Hills community. Partners include our elementary schools, Stephens Memorial Hospital, the Harrison Food Bank, and many more. Students will travel by bus with a teacher and earn 6 hours of community service for their participation.

This day is about more than meeting graduation requirements. It’s an opportunity for students to build connections, learn new skills, and explore potential passions beyond high school.

More details will be shared soon. Thank you for your continued support and for encouraging your student to participate!
