As the school year begins, we are excited to transition our student one to one technology from Chromebooks to iPads. To receive a new iPad, students must first return their school-issued Chromebook, case, and charger to the Technology office in room B116. Please note that Chromebooks will no longer function once this transition is complete on Friday, September 5th.

iPad Distribution Schedule (during English classes):
Juniors & Seniors: Tuesday, September 2nd and Wednesday, September 3rd
Sophomores: Thursday, September 4th and Friday, September 5th

To avoid being billed for missing technology, all items must be returned by Friday, September 5th to B116. Families will be billed for any unreturned equipment:
Chromebook – $300
Case – $30
Charger – $30

We appreciate your support in helping this process go smoothly. Please remind your student to bring their laptop, case, and charger on their assigned day.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the technology office.

📢 Attention Juniors & Seniors!
Thinking about taking the SAT this year? 📚✏️

Register early — test dates fill up fast, especially in August, September, and November!
Use your personal email (not your school email) for your College Board account so you’ll have access after graduation.
Give yourself at least a 5-week head start before your preferred test date to avoid late fees and get your preferred test center.
OHCHS will offer SAT testing in March for Juniors

A wonderful trip to Colby College yesterday for some of our students participating in the OHCHS College Admission Summer Camp! This was optional for the group but those who attended received a full college admission exploration and financial aid program. It was presented well including references made to our STARS College Network for the students. Thank you Dr. K, Mr. Palmer & Colby College!

A big shout-out to Hailey Pike, artist extraordinaire! Her whimsical and thoughtful interpretation of Winnie the Pooh was featured on the covers of all our senior programs, including Commencement. Hailey, a third-year graphic design student, has had an outstanding year—winning gold at the state level for graphic design and earning the honor of representing Maine at the national SkillsUSA competition this summer. She was also recognized with a Creative Excellence Award in the Scholastic Art Awards, with her work exhibited at the Maine State Capitol, and received a silver pin for her achievements. Congratulations, Hailey! We’re so proud of your creativity, dedication, and accomplishments. Thank you for sharing your artistic spirit with us—best of luck at Nationals!

Future Leader Alert! 🎉 Huge congratulations to Ronan Brown and Caitrin Meagher on being selected for the highly competitive William S. Cohen Institute Emerging Leaders Summer High School Program at the University of Maine! 🌟 We are incredibly proud of Caitrin and Ronan for earning spots in this immersive, statewide program. The Emerging Leaders Summer High School Program, sponsored in part through a recent community grant investment from Amazon, gathers rising high school seniors from every county in Maine to dive deep into leadership theory and practice. It's a fantastic opportunity to develop skills for careers in public service and beyond. Participants like Ronan and Caitrin are nominated by their high schools and attend tuition-free, engaging with prominent leaders and building a network of peers dedicated to making a difference. This is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and leadership potential. We know they will represent OHCHS with distinction and make the most of this amazing experience! Join us in celebrating the success of Caitrin Meagher and Ronan Brown! We can't wait to hear about their summer and see all that they accomplish! 👏
