We want to keep you updated regarding the recent changes to the Federal CDC and Maine DOE guidance regarding Covid-19.
If your student tests Positive for COVID-
● Isolate at home for at LEAST 5 days from onset of symptoms. (If no symptoms- 5 days from test date.)
● On day 6- if your student has been 24 hours fever free AND symptoms have improved (not requiring any medicine) they may return to school wearing a mask at all times except when eating/drinking.
● The district is now accepting positive home tests. Please contact your school nurse.
If your student is Exposed to COVID-19-
● Universal Masking Exception- The Maine CDC and Maine DOE have implemented an exception to quarantine for school districts that are enforcing a mandatory masking policy.
● If your student has an exposure to COVID-19 (regardless of where the exposure occurs) they may continue to come to school if asymptomatic and masking.
● If your student has not received the COVID-19 immunization and has had an exposure, they may continue to come to school under the masking exception but should quarantine outside of school for at least 5 days from last exposure.
Just a reminder that AIP is still available for students that are failing a class and/or need extra help.
AIP is scheduled on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15-4:00. Attendance will be taken for AIP.

Next week will be spirit week. The spirit dress up days are as follows:
Monday: Comfy Day
Tuesday: Marvel vs. Disney Day
Wednesday: Halloween Day (It can be ANYTHING Halloween related and
appropriate. It does not need to be a costume)
Thursday: Green and Gold Day
It will cost $5 to attend the homecoming dance.

The Class of 2023 will be hosting a "SEATS & FEETS" - sock and underwear drive for Pink Feather Foundation, homecoming week! Our goal is to collect 2,023 items.
Items must be new in a package and can be dropped off at any of the homecoming games or in B113 or B266.

Homecoming week is the 4th of October through the 9th of October.
All events are pending our ability to safely host the event based on the Covid-19 Numbers in our area.
Homecoming week:
Saturday- Football vs. Messalonskee 1:00pm
We will have spirit days for the entire student body and staff which will be published by the Student Council. Monday - Thursday
Events planned for Homecoming for students to participate in
1- Spirit days at school, Monday through Thursday
2- All sporting events, Listed above.
3- Float Building during the week by class. Please contact your class officers for details.
4- Thursday the 7th “Movie Night at the Gouin” Free for all students (Masked Event)
We will be at the football field
Seating will be in the bleachers or in chairs/ on Blankets on the field
Admission is free
Only for students of OHCHS
There will be concessions sold by each of the classes
5- Homecoming Parade
All Students encourage to participate, march in parade
Float for each class, students walk in parade with their float by grade level
Participation in parade gets you into the football game for free on Saturday
6- Homecoming Dance (Masked Event)
Only OHCHS students will be allowed to attend the dance
It will be an In-Formal dance
The dance will be on the bus loop at OHCHS.
The dance will run from 7-10pm
All school rules are in effect at the dance.
Tickets will be sold at the door.
The class of 2025 is selling T-shirts for Homecoming for everyone. Cost is $12.00 and orders will be accepted through THIS THURSDAY (9/16) *Only 2 more days!* Please submit payment BEFORE submitting your order (electronically is preferred - but cash/check are okay) please see directions for payment on the form!
